ABOUT THE CHEFS
José has been part of the Sal y Limón family for more than 15 years, helping create memorable dining experiences through authentic Mexican cuisine. His passion for cooking began at a very young age in his grandmother's kitchen, where he learned the value of fresh ingredients, traditional techniques, and preparing meals with care. Since the age of five, he has enjoyed exploring the culinary world and has spent years refining his skills in professional kitchens while helping develop many of Sal y Limón's most beloved dishes. José believes that great food brings people together and that cooking should be both approachable and enjoyable, making every recipe an opportunity to share culture, tradition, and connection.
Valentina joined the Sal y Limón team in 2022, bringing with her a lifelong passion for baking and food science. Inspired by her grandmother, she spent her childhood helping make cakes, cookies, doughnuts, and other homemade desserts, experiences that sparked her love for creating food. At the age of 16, she pursued formal training, becoming a certified pastry chef and baker in her hometown of Ecuador before earning a degree in Food Engineering. Her education gave her a deep understanding of how ingredients work, allowing her to confidently adapt recipes, develop new creations, and refine techniques.
Together, José and Valentina have created recipes inspired by the vibrant flavors and traditions of Mexico, combining experience, creativity, and technical knowledge to make delicious, approachable meals that everyone can enjoy.
