Paneer Tikka w/Mint Cilantro Chutney - Traditional Indian dish made from chunks of Paneer (mild Indian cheese similar to cottage or ricotta in flavour) and grilled or broiled.  Served with a fresh and lively chutney.

Gluten Free Pohe - very popular and extremely delicious Maharashtrian rice pilaf dish (from the Southwest part of India); vibrant and colourful and full of vitamins, minerals and fiber.  This dish can be enjoyed anytime of day....breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Chicken Biryani - A delicious savoury rice dish that is loaded with marinated chicken, caramelized onions and flavourful saffron rice.  A highly aromatic and well-seasonsed one-pot dish; perfect for feeding a crown!

Instructor Bio:

Born in New Delhi, India, Bharti Saincher of South Surrey immigrated to Windsor, ON in 1967 as a young girl and grew up there.  Having obatined a BSc and BEd degree in 1980, she married in 1981 and moved to Nanaimo, BC.  She worked in Winnipeg and Calgary as a resource teacher prior to raising three children.  

Bharti's self-published cookbook "Pass the Masala: Vegetarian Indian Cooking Made Simple" (Callawind Custom Books) contains more than 200 recipes for both beginners and experienced chefs alike.  Her recipes are written in a simple format yet still include all the traditional blending of Indian herbs, spices and seasoning.  The cookbook also includes many practical tips from 25 years of cooking experience.

"Through food, Bharti says, she hopes to strengthen the connection the next generation has with their culture and family history."  The book is not focused on one region's cuisine, rather a sampling of traditional recipes from all over the Indian continent.

Class Cancellation Policy

Cooking class registration is accepted in person or on line at www.kitchentherapy.ca.
Full payment is required at time of registration and can be made using visa, mastercard, debit card (in person only), a valid gift card or by cash. If you are unable to attend a class that you registered for, we require 48 hours notice; with 48 hours notice we can move you to another class (provided space is available), or offer you a store credit for in-store purchases.
We do not offer refunds
If less than 48 hours notice is given, we are unable to offer a credit, however, we do encourage you to send a family member or friend in your place. If, for any reason, we cancel a class, we will gladly offer a refund or a store credit. Gift certificates can be used for any of our cooking classes; please bring in your gift card (the one you used for on-line registration/purchase) at time of the class you will be attending.
Our classes generally sell out, so on-line purchasing for attendance is strongly recommended.
